Salix Dementia Trust: Who We Are and What We Do

The Salix Dementia Trust is a recognised Scottish Charity (SC32100) and a company limited by guarantee. We have a number of projects, both ongoing and in development.

We don't simply rely on grants, but raise our core income through hard work and the generosity of our supporters. Our aim is to improve the lives of people with dementia.

In line with that aim, this site endeavours to provide information of many sorts; and we are always available for enquiries.

We have been asked, "Why is a small charity needed, when there are big charities already in the field?" It is hard for us to imagine how small charities could not be needed! For choice to operate, which is important, there must be diversity. We consider ourselves quiet revolutionaries: our tagline, "changing the world for people with dementia", sums us up. Education is central to our understanding of how this can be achieved.

Our projects tend to be small and innovative, focused on high quality and the ability to change in response to situations.
