How Can You Contribute

We Don't Just Want Your Money!

Of course, financial contributions are always welcome. We don't simply rely on grants, but raise our core income through hard work and the generosity of our supporters. But you can help in other ways too:

Volunteer:

Do you have practical skills to offer? We need a media officer. Can you bake for us, help at fund-raising events, host or organise an event, make preserves to sell? (We encourage our cooks to claim back the costs of ingredients: we would hate anyone who wished to help to feel he couldn't afford to.)

Become a member:

and receive our newsletter.

Buy the Pangolin Cookbook:

featuring some of our best-loved coffee-morning recipes, and many others from our supporters. Only £4: send a cheque drawn on a UK bank (sorry about that!) to our treasurer, or contact the office for other ways to pay. Not many copies remaining!

Increase your expertise and boost our funds by buying your own copy of the

Toolkit for Dementia

(forthcoming - watch for an announcement).

If you're the manager of a nursing home or day care centre, host

Golden Years Rock.

Perhaps you can

offer a prize

for our Summer draw, or the tombolas and raffles we hold during the year.

Do you have equipment we need?

The expanded Pangolin project will need a 4x4 to begin its community operations, but we'd also be grateful for other items, such as a projector or an office scanner.

Subscribe to our quiz.

Send a cheque for £3, plus 6 stamped addressed envelopes, to our treasurer and we'll send you our quiz for a year.

Many charities will tell you that "90% of our income goes directly to the cause". We have concluded that such claims are often nearly meaningless. We do promise that if we can beg, borrow, or make it, we will, and that no-one on the board is flying to conferences in the Bahamas.

Ways to donate.

You'll see our PayPal button at the foot of this page, and on many others. You don't have to have a PayPal account to donate: just use your credit or debit card.

You can also donate through your Charities Aid Foundation account.

Or why not set up a by standing order? Contact us for our bank details.

Alternatively, send us a cheque.

If you pay UK Income Tax, you can increase the value of your donation to Salix by 20% by allowing us to claim GiftAid on your contributions. If you want to do this, you will have to make a declaration, usually by filling in a form, but you need only do it once!

If your gift is by Paypal, please use the space provided for messages and paste one of the following:

Please treat this gift as a Gift Aid donation;
OR
Please treat all gifts of money that I make today and in the future as Gift Aid donations
OR
Please treat all gifts of money that I have made in the past 6 years and all future gifts of money that I make from the date of this declaration as Gift Aid donations

& append your full name. (HMRC insist upon it.)
